If you want to experience a real adventure 3 days Trekking in the Alps can be a very good option for you. We will sleep in 2 mountains lodge(rifugio in Italian language) and we will live in full contact with nature. Lodges offer a good level of comfort but we will be outdoor for the full 3 days. If possible we will organize the 3 days hike so that we can walk in a loop, starting and arriving in the same place but always walking in a different path. It is also possible to sleep in Inn. In that case you will have your own private room and private toilet. Down here we will post the differences of this 2 options.
There are many options, specially in summer time to have 3 beautiful days in the mountains. If you want to see Matterhorn or Monte Bianco we will hike in Aosta Valley. If you prefer a more rough and authentic adventure we will instead hike in the Alps near Turin or in the Maritime Alps, which are less famous and with the same beauty. Every season have its own opportunity and beauty. This also depends on the nature which is not possible to predict. So the idea is that you’ll tell us your age, fitness level and hiking experience and we will organize the best possible track for your trekking holidays in Europe. Trekking in the Alps is different than trekking in Himalaya or in Kilimanjaro. Usually here paths are steeper so more than length we will focus on high difference. For example a 1000 meters up and down high difference is usually a medium difficulty hike. It does not matter if we will walk for 8 or 20 Km. It is the high difference that make the trek tough.
Sleeping in a Mountain Lodge
The mountain lodge(called Rifugio in Italian language) it is a house in the middle of the mountains. It is completely isolated and there are people living there. Some lives up there only for the summer, other all year round. The rifugio offers a quite good level of comfort but you have to remind that to bring any facility up there it is very complicated. So nothing is for granted. For example food is brought up by elicopter and so do trash. Usually there is a hot shower that you can do with a limited amount of minutes, and the rooms are usually with shared beds and also toilet are in common. Some rifugio have a sort of private bedrooms but this is an exception. The idea is to live one night more related to the nature: we are not going up there for living high end comfort. It is a shared experience and this is the beauty of it. Most of rooms have 4-8 beds but every lodge is different. If you prefer to sleep all in the same room and let’s say you are, 6 this is possible. Just let us know and we will choose a lodge which have this feature.
Said so, if you really want your privacy of a single room it is possible to organize but probably you’ll no sleep up in the mountains but more in a village in the mountains with more facilities. Another option, for the most adventurous, are unguarded hut.
Sleeping in a Mountain Inn/Hotel
If you prefer to have your own room and private toilet and eventually even a fancy 4/5 stars hotel with SPA this is possible. We can either use a Hotel as headquarter and explore every day a different area or we can organize an itinerant trek and sleep in mountain village wich offer this opportunity. This second option is not always available as it depends on the season. The first option with the headquarter instead is more flexible and it can be organized any time of the year with any kind of comfort level.
